Macduff Shipyards Limited have recently signed over there latest new build, “VENTURE III”, to Mark Lovie of Whitehills. This new build replaces the owner’s previous vessel, the “VENTURE II” which was built by the yard in 2001, and is the largest fishing vessel built by the yard to date.
The vessel is a stern trawler with twin ramps and has an overall length of almost 30.00m, beam of 10.50m and a moulded depth of 7.20m to freeboard deck. The hull form is round bilge with a large bulbous bow, flared stem and have the full beam carried right to stern.
It is fitted with a MAK 8M20 main engine, developing 1060 kW and 900 rpm and has a large 3.10m diameter propeller within nozzle with triple rudder system.
