Macduff Shipyards Limited are proud to hand over ‘Keira May’, the second 14.95m landing craft built for Scottish Sea Farms Ltd.
A sister ship to the ‘Julie Anne’, which was handed over earlier this year, the vessel is to be deployed to the west coast of Scotland and will assist with general salmon farm duties. 2 x John Deere 6068TFM engines with a total output of 316hp power the vessel and give a cruising speed of 9 knots.
It is also fitted with a Palfinger PK 15550(M)B deck crane a two 3t capstans. With a useable deck area of 35 square metres the Keira May is capable of carrying over 20t of deck cargo. Based on the success of these two vessels Scottish Sea Farms Ltd have recently placed an order for a third landing craft of the same design for their Orkney division.
